My, aren’t we lucky….

As I sat holding an open house this weekend at the Highlands, I happened to look though our coffee table books.  We have some good ones… the one on rainforests in particular.   I was reading interesting bits and looking at the photos when I  noticed that quite a few of the pics were taken at the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest.  This special park is located just 2.5 hours from the Highlands.  I went there several times over the holidays to soak and relax in the hot spring after a three mile hike up to the spring.  There is camping, fishing, snowmobiling and more for the outdoorsperson to enjoy.  The scenery is incredible with Mt. Baker, ancient conifers, ferns and moss.  So close to Langley one can make a day trip out of going there, yet it feels a world away.
